Selah Shines in Senior Night Sweep Over Toppenish

Tuesday night was more than just another volleyball game for the Selah Vikings. It was a night filled with memories, emotions, and celebration as the team honored its seniors one last time on their home court. With family, friends, and teammates cheering them on, the Vikings made Senior Night one to remember, sweeping the Toppenish Wildcats 3-0.

Selah came out strong in the opening set, battling through a close matchup to take a 25-22 victory. The Vikings carried that momentum into the second set, dominating Toppenish 25-13. With one final push, Selah secured the sweep with a 25-20 win in the third set, giving the seniors a special victory on their big night.

Senior Reagan Rasmussen made her presence known defensively, finishing with 9 digs and 1 ace. Elliott McLaughlin delivered a strong performance at the net, recording 8 kills, 2 blocks, and 1 ace. Leah Baker helped keep the offense moving with 7 assists, 1 dig, and 1 ace, while Sydney Lea contributed 2 kills, 5 digs, and 1 ace.

But Tuesday night’s game was about much more than the numbers on the stat sheet. It was about recognizing the seniors who have poured countless hours of hard work, dedication, and heart into the Selah volleyball program. From early practices and tough losses to unforgettable victories, these athletes have built memories and friendships that will last long after their final season.

For Rasmussen, McLaughlin, Baker, Pitzer, and Lea, Senior Night marked a bittersweet moment in their high school careers. While their time wearing a Selah jersey is coming to an end, the impact they have made on their teammates and the program will not be forgotten.

The scoreboard may have shown a Selah victory, but the real story of the night was the four seniors who helped make the program what it is today. Their time on the court may be coming to a close, but their legacy as Selah Vikings will live on.
